Key Activities

  • 1) Monitoring Compliance with International Standards

    • Analyzing Kazakhstan’s adherence to international obligations and anti-discrimination legislation.
    • Providing recommendations to state bodies for effective implementation.
  • 2) Supporting UN Reporting

    • Preparing and supporting Kazakhstan’s reports on the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).
    • Assisting in presenting reports to the UN Committee.
  • 3) Coordination of Interagency Efforts

    • Developing plans and coordinating the Interagency Working Group’s activities for defending Kazakhstan’s National Report on ICERD implementation.
  • 4) Government Briefings

    • Informing the Government of Kazakhstan about progress and preparations for National Report defense.
  • 5) Research and Policy Recommendations

    • Studying international best practices in human rights, gender equality, and anti-discrimination.
    • Proposing enhancements to national legislation based on research findings.
  • 6) Drafting and Reviewing Laws

    • Contributing to the development and review of socio-economic draft laws and international agreements.
  • 7) Collaboration with Civil Society

    • Working with civil society institutions and government agencies to implement recommendations from the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
